Chapter 9 done, some of the locations of the soulstones are shown, the conflict between Narasil and the Necromancer ends with her paying weregild and forswearing evil powers she'd already apparently forsworn. But she may still be up to something. Significant Omission... while she swore to save his life at least once, she did not swear never to try to kill him again. We'll find out more about this lady in later chapters, I'm sure. And even more about whether anyone was behind her...

My favorite set of villains is being coy again and they always work through pawns and go-betweens and get extremely subtle in pulling their stuff off. They will tend to be three stages away from whoever gets caught and are good for so much mileage. And this is a tiny little port no great multidimensional Powers care much about...
